We do lots of outdoor eating and drinking: Spring picnics, summer camping, winter beach trips huddled on rocks, and general messing about in the garden.
Our pleasure in al-fresco refreshment, and some research into the Campfire Girls (a scout-like organisation, the first nonsectarian, multicultural organization for girls in America) led us to design these.
We didn't want to make 'special' mugs that just sit in the cupboard, so we opted for hardwearing enamel - to be used and used again in the great outdoors.
The icons on the mugs are inspired by Native American symbols, the two different designs represent Night & Day. Each mug comes with a screenprinted guide to the symbols it shows.
Night features: the symbol for nights, a star, thought, fire and a hoot owl.
Day shows: four days, a wild goose, morning star, sunrise, thunderbird tracks (meaning 'bright prospects') and happiness.
The designs are printed on hardwearing enamel 10oz mugs with traditional blue rims. The mugs are highly durable - made by fusing porcelain to heavy-guage steel - lightweight and last for generations.
